Lancaster Hackathon
I had the honour in my first year of university to participate in a hackathon which was delivered in collaboration with several universities within the Lancaster area and GCHQ. This hackathon covered topics of AI and quantum encryption. Additionally, we were challenged with creating a facial recognition system based on a dataset provided to us. This was done in Python using a Raspberry Pi and CCTV camera.
Punk Security Session One
Punk Security delivered a capture the flag style hackathon in which teams competed in challenges with several different technology stacks in order to find flags. Within my team I was primarily responsible for identifying flags hidden within Kubernetes clusters as well as Docker containers.
AWS Workshop Session One
In second year I have had the opportunity to participate in an ongoing series of workshops surrounding generative AI and cloud infrastructure. The first session covered the history of language models and LLMs, as well as how these models can be deployed within the cloud, particularly looking at AWS Bedrock.
AWS Workshop Session Two
Within the second session we delved deep into agentic AI. We covered the modern usage of agentic AI, how it is used within industry, and how to deploy it within AWS — making use of services such as S3, Lambda, and Bedrock in order to deploy an HR Agent.
